The muslin fabric of this kaftan is handwoven in Bengal and is ideal for the summer and monsoon months due to its high count and easy drape. The bespoke mughal design of the ‘opium’ poppy flower motif is depicted in the form of applique embroidery in this kaftan. Floral designs reached their zenith during the mughal reign. The kaftan is worn with palazzos or as a dress.
